CITI’s Understanding Risk Management masterclass helps professionals move beyond simple risk registers and develop a practical understanding of how risk influences organisational performance. The programme introduces the core principles of risk management, including risk identification, assessment, prioritisation, response planning and ongoing monitoring. Participants explore the difference between threats and opportunities, understand common causes of project and organisational risk, and learn how risk can influence strategic, operational and delivery decisions.
Topics include risk appetite, uncertainty, stakeholder perspectives, qualitative and quantitative assessment techniques, governance considerations, escalation processes, risk ownership and common pitfalls that undermine effective risk management.
