Change and the modern PMO

Kay Sanders, CEO – CITI Limited
CITI’s celebratory 50th Communities of Expertise Club was hosted in Milton Keynes to bring together the CITI founders with the current team, our clients and partners. This very successful, insightful day was well attended and having our special guests visit from South Africa was a real treat.

My predecessor, Christopher Worsley talked about the formation of the company over 40 years ago and shared our rich history; from being Cranfield Information Technology to producing and delivering the masters in project management, gaining university status, the high points of doing great work with clients, the low points following the financial crisis in the 2010s, and the decision to look for a successor.

Evolving role of the project office

Louise Worsley, Pi3Learning
In a rapidly shifting business landscape, the role of the Project Office has evolved beyond delivering projects—it must now demonstrate measurable value.

Louise explored how expectations for change and project professionals, offices, and organisations have evolved over the past decade. Drawing from her experience evaluating global PMO award applications and working with various management offices, she raised thought-provoking questions about value, technology’s impact, change management offices, and the future.

A legacy of change and innovation

Christopher Worsley
CITI has come a long way since its early days, shaping the world of project and programme management over the past four decades.

Christopher’s charismatic and witty speech took us on a journey through the key moments that made CITI what it is today.

Christopher’s engaging and humorous storytelling highlighted just how far CITI has come, making it especially inspiring for me as a new member of the team.

National Grid insights and experiences

James Leeming – Project Director

Vaibhav Gadakh – Portfolio Scheduling Manager

Decarbonising the energy system and delivering cheaper and more secure energy supplies is one of the biggest challenges facing our world. National Grid have a critical role to play in the acceleration towards a cleaner future.

James shared that the Great Grid Upgrade is the largest overhaul of the grid in generations and will future proof the grid for years to come, facilitating the transition to a secure, clean and affordable energy future. There are 17 network reinforcements identified by the regulator, OFGEM, as ‘essential’ to meet UK Government’s net zero targets.
