CITI...Pushing ourselves again

There are times when my team look at me and maybe ask “What is she on?” The answer is nothing! I like us to challenge ourselves where it’s important, where we know we talk the talk, but we must also walk the walk.  We are a values-driven organisation, working in change enablement though the successful delivery of projects. We teach, consult, and partner with our clients to enable them to raise their internal capabilities so they become self-sufficient and robust. We assess change and project communities to understand where there are strengths and where we need to bridge gaps or heighten capability through learning.

CITI has always been a challenger, whereby we ask the tough questions, hold a mirror up to leadership teams and support organisations to align their vision, their values, their strategy, their processes, and their people to bring about a shared understanding and commitment to the vision and where true benefits can be realised.

As part of this movement towards building robust change delivery and project communities, we are accredited by LPI as Gold Standard, and are also accredited by APM, APMG International and PeopleCert, and are very proud to have gained our B Corp Certification!

This certification as a B Corporation (B Corp) means we are joining a growing movement of companies that are reinventing business for the benefit of all people and our shared planet. Verified by B Lab, the not-for-profit behind the B Corp movement, the achievement demonstrates that CITI Limited meets high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability alongside a commitment to goals beyond shareholder value.

The news comes as the ongoing climate crisis and widening social inequality continue to pose urgent challenges to our economy. B Corp Certification assesses the entirety of a business’ operations and currently covers five main impact areas: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment and Customers. The certification process is rigorous, with companies required to reach a score of 80 points in the B Impact Assessment (BIA) while providing evidence of responsible practices relating to energy supplies, waste and water use, worker compensation, diversity, and corporate transparency. A business must also legally embed their commitment to purpose as well as profit in their company articles.

CITI Limited is now part of a growing community of over 8,000 businesses globally that have certified as a B Corp. The B Corp community in the UK is one of the largest and fastest growing in the world, with over 1,700 companies spanning a range of different industries and sizes. Names include The Guardian, Innocent Drinks, Patagonia, Tony’s Chocolonely, The Big Issue, Finisterre, Elemis, and Sipsmith Gin.

Chris Turner, executive director of B Lab UK, says:

“Welcoming CITI Limited to the B Corp community is hugely exciting. Its commitment to doing business differently will be an inspiration to others and will help spread the notion that success in business is as much about people and planet as it is profit.”

We look forward to continuing on our journey of enabling change in a socially and environmentally conscious manner.
